The Chinese Laundry is a new pop-up coming to Portland in the late winter of 2013.  We plan on bringing dim sum to the very hungry people of Portland.  The Chinese Laundry will be popping up all over town, 3-5 times a week.  Find us at galleries, coffee shops, residences, First Fridays, and street corners.  We’ll be equipped with warm buns and steamy dumplings.  In addition to our pop-up sales, we’ll be available to cater events too, if anyone is interested in that.

Now for….

A brief history of dim sum! Dim sum is translated as “to eat a little something” and that’s exactly what we hope to help you do.  Our menu will change regularly, with 3-5 options from you to choose from.  We’ll always have a vegetarian option for you herbivores! In addition to dumplings and steamed buns, we will also have plenty of tea on hand to only further your dim sum experience.

Before we start in February, we need to raise some money so we can have the proper equipment to keep your food warm.  Below is a link where you can donate whatever you see fit to help us give you warm buns and dumplings!

DONATE!!!

Besides dumplings and buns, we’ll also be experimenting with radish cakes, turnovers, lotus wraps, and custard tarts.

If you’re interested in joining forces with the team at the Chinese Laundry, we’d love to hear from you.  We’re looking for people who want to fold and package buns and dumplings, vendors, graphic designers, and someone who might want to take charge of marketing and press releases.  Email us at erikajoyce@rocketmail.com so we can chat.
